Dhaka Abahani defend BPL title
Dhaka Abahani retained the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football title with a 2-0 goal victory against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the 21st round match of the country’s 10th edition prestigious league at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Abahani clinched the title for the 6th time from the inception of the league since 2007, with one match to spare of the double league system meet.
Defender Nasir Uddin Chowdhury put Dhaka Abahani ahead in the 23rd minute by a header from goal mouth melee connecting midfielder of Sohel Rana’s right footed cross from the right side of the box, 1-0.
Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba Nwadialu doubled the winning margin with a marvelous goal in the stopgap time after 90 minutes.
