7.4 lakh Yaba worth Tk 22 crore recovered from Teknaf after bearers flee

Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered at least 7.40 lakh Pieces of Yaba tablets worth of Tk 22 crore from Old Marine Drive Road area in Teknaf upazila on Saturday.

Lt Colonel SM Ariful Islam, captain of Teknaf BGB-2 battalion said on secret information a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area and challenged 6/7 people while they were coming down the road with four plastic bags on their heads.

Noticing the BGB men, they managed to flee the scene leaving the bags behind.

Later the BGB team recovered the bags and found at least 7.40 lakh pieces of Yaba tablets worth Tk 22 crore.

Earlier on Friday, members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) arrested eight people with 5 lakh Yaba pills worth Tk 20 crore from the Bay of Bengal near Cox’s Bazar coast.
