Math SSC: Parents, teachers, students held over ‘question leaks’ in 4 dists

Law enforcers on Saturday arrested at least six people including two women and a female student in connection with their suspected involvement in leaking the question paper of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Mathematics exam, which was held Saturday across the country.

The arrests were made in Rajshahi, Thakurgaon, Sylhet and Jessore.
In Rajshahi, the mother of an examinee was arrested just prior to the exam from outside the exam center, as she attempted to solve a math problem she had just received on her mobile, with a tip that it would be in the question paper.

Meanwhile, a female college student Rabia Islam Ria, daughter of Aminul Islam of Shahmakhdum area in city was also arrested along with leaked question paper.
The guardians and locals caught the girl as she went to print the question paper in a local shop and later handed her to police.

In Thakurgaon, police held a school teacher and a bank official from near Jabarhat Hemchandra High School in Pirganj upazila.

Executive magistrate Sohag Chandra Saha said the duo was exchanging question and solutions through mobile phone around 9:30 am whenpolice caught them. The detainees are identified as Saidur Rahman, employee of Al Arafa Islamic Bank and Eunus, assistant teacher of a school of mentally challenged and autism children in Jagannathpur.

In Sylhet, along with the leaked question a young man was arrested from in front of the Ambarkhana Girls High School around 10am.
The detainee Delwar Hossain, son of Humayun Kabir of Kishoreganj, confessed that he was helping his niece by providing solutions of the exam questions, said sub-inspector of Ambarkhana Police outpost Debasish Deb.

In Jessore, a house tutor and college student Monirul Islam, 28, was arrested along with the math question paper of SSC from outside the District School. Locals caught Monirul red handed while he was showing the solutions of question paper to some SSC examinees.

Earlier on February 4, the government declared a bounty of Tk 5 lakh each for handing over to the authorities the criminals involved in question paper leakage on social media.
